As you all have probably read, when writing a review there's a specific important rule. You're reminded of that rule every time you write a new review because it's stated just below your text input field:

Please make sure to provide constructive feedback with your review. Don't simply give low scores without telling the author why, don't use this place to purposefully offend the author.

Now I don't want to be a censor. I really dislike having to step in and manually remove comments or reviews just because some people cannot control themselves. If you don't like a game, tell the author why. If you don't like the author for some reason, don't bash it out by simply voting 0 all the time on a game that's actually quite good. Be fair in your review ratings and the grade you vote.

We want to keep this a fun place and if that means I have to go and step in and put up some restrictions for certain people I will do so. Cool your heads, take the feedback you get as important pointers, not as a burn down. You only make yourself look like a fool if you can't handle criticism. Being able to handle it and to swallow your pride makes you stronger, it also allows you to learn and improve.

As much as I hate to admit it, yeah I wrote this mainly because of the issues put forward involving yourself. You have to realize that you still have a lot to learn, both in the ways of making games in flash, but even more importantly in the ways of how you take criticism.

Be realistic with both the creations of others and those of yourself. Don't be jealous of the things someone else can do and actively burn those things down even though you know better. Instead learn from it, be inspired, watch how others work and do what they do best. Most, be it not all of them, are still learning and improving. That's what reviews are for, that's what this place is for. Apart from discussing if something is great and wonderful to play you can discuss what can be improved. It's useless if everybody would reply just by saying that your creation is perfect. You wouldn't learn anything. You learn by making mistakes and by practicing a lot, but only if you can accept some extend of criticism.

If you get sick of the replies on your games I'd say that comes from 2 important issues. The first being that you expect people to be unreasonable towards your games. Before they even post something you expect them to post something bad. So instead of reading what they post you already consider the worst and respond to a review as if it's just offensive flaming. The second issue is that you really do need to realize that you've just started working with flash, both in art and in coding. Besides that you don't have the experience in other coding languages. You cannot expect to be a genius and do everything perfect on your first or second try. It takes time and a lot of practice. Heck I've spend hours and hours working on things, done lots and lots of projects and am still learning every day. With every game I make, with every character or situation I design I learn and improve. The only reason that happens is because I'm also critical at my own work. I know it's not perfect and I know there are a lot of improvement points, but that's ok. That doesn't mean the things can't be fun or interesting. Yet if I'd go and consider every point critical point as an offense I'd probably get sick too. The annoying thing is that the only thing you realize when you respond to someone with flames is that they won't even bother being friendly the next time. Why would they? It's not like you're going to take their criticism seriously anyway.

As I said in that first post, and I really mean it that way. I hate to be a censor. I hate having to remove comments or reviews because the contents of them are excessively breaking the rules. So please, abide by the rules, learn from each other instead of seeing every other artist as a competitor or a foe.

Don't worry. That's a thing you'll always get. The thing is, even if people say you're doing a great job and are progressing well, make sure they've seen what you have and played it. Don't release a game blindly, let it be played by a few people close to you, and people of whom you know will give you some real and honest feedback before you release it. That's the way I always do it and it really helps.

You have to keep in mind that with for example the game you just released, there's still a lot of things in there that could be improved. You're on a way to making an interesting and fun game but it still needs work. It's just far from done yet and that's the most important thing. Even if you're on track and working on something nice and get good comments from people around you, if you release it too soon, it won't be what they expected. Be sure to finish what you start.

Oh and just so you know, I was once at that same point you're at now, not knowing a lot about flash and trying to do the best with the small stuff that I did know. The most important thing I learned at that point is not to give up when you don't know how do deal with something. Fight on, look on the web for a solution to your problem or to what you actually want to do. Most of the time you won't find the exact solution, but something quite close which you can use. You really learn the most from being critical about your own work and by not giving up.

I disabled some of your privileges because I didn't want to end up with the same thing we ended up with before. Yet if you can tell me that you've cooled down and that you're not on a road to avenge your lost pride, I can restore those privs in the blink of an eye.
