Maybe you’ve played a game like this before somewhere on some other website. It’s quite a familiar concept. You’re a fish. Even though you’re a fish that would normally only eat algae you’re desperate! All algae are gone, something evil has taken away all your food. So I guess there’s nothing you can do but die.... Unless... What if you can use your small teeth for an other purpose, like for example eating other fish? They won’t expect it from you, looking so innocent, so maybe you can surprise them! Watch out though, because you’re not the only one with trouble finding food.
Luckily for you the game isn’t that hard to play. All you have to do is move your fish around and eat the fish that are smaller than you. You actually have the choice between 3 different fish and 3 different levels. In the screenshot displayed you see 3 fish, one of them is you. you are the fish displayed at the 1. A second fish is displayed at the 2 and a third at the 3. The bar displayed at the 4 at the bottom of the screen shows you which of the fish you can eat. A V indicates you can eat it, an X that you need to start worrying because they can eat you. As you see in the bar you can eat the fish displayed at the 2 but not the one displayed at the 3. Yet every time you eat a fish you will grow. The bigger you become, the stronger you will be and at a certain point you will be able to eat that other fish too. Your growth is displayed with the indicator at the 7 in the upper left corner of the screen. Once that bar reaches 100% you enter a new "level" and the counting starts back at 0% again.
Be aware though, you cannot continue forever. The same evil that made your precious algae disappear also put a timer on you. If the timer displayed at the 6 reaches 0, it’s game over. Luckily there’s a way to lengthen the time you have left. You can do so by consuming a clock (yes I know, how would a fish eat a clock? Well you’re in an extraordinary situation so that requires some extraordinary action! It may not taste great, but at least it keeps you alive). An example of a clock is displayed at the 5.

Now that’s not it just yet. The game isn’t called special fishy for nothing. It has to contain something special. If you look at the screenshot you can see that there are a few numbers left. Apart from a coin (displayed at the 9) that gives you extra points for consuming it, there’s a strange bubble that gives you special powers. It’s displayed at the 10. If you touch that bubble you will get special powers that you can activate by pressing the spacebar. The moment you touch it, the word SPECIAL at the 8 will start to glow. You can use it at any time you please.
The moment you use your special you will go into a state where time stops for everything around you. An example image of that state is shown in the screenshot below.

In this state you will be able to take out any fish around you, but only if your timing is perfect. White circles will appear on specific fish, like the 1 and 2 in the picture. The moment such a circle appears you need to click it as fast as you can. Being successful at doing so will instantly take out the enemy you clicked on. This indescribably power is something to use wisely in emergency situations.
What are the controls?
The controls are simple. Use the Arrow Keys to move your fish around. Swimming out of the far left of the screen will make you re-appear on the far right of the screen. Activate your special with Space and pause the game with the P key.
