Cloverfield all the way!

Boooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! No offence, but how did you like that movie? At the start I was watching it and I was like, "This first-person style view is kind of unique but I hope it doesn't do it the whole movie." Half way through I was like, "Wow, it's still doing it! Oh look there's the ground!" And when the movie ended I was like, "Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!"

No offence Myth, but I hated that movie!

Oh? I quite liked it as well. I didn't like the Blair Witch Project which was filmed the same way, so I didn't really expect much from this one when people told me it kinda was a mixture between that one and Godzilla. But when I started watching it, it simply grabbed me. I really liked how they did the transition from normal life to a warzone without having a clue about what's going on or what happened. Movies like Godzilla generally suck because they almost always answer all your questions before you even thought of them. This one kept you in the dark and slowly revealed more, but left some major issues unresolved. I really liked how they integrated those special effects in a handcam view. Basically any other movie tries to take as much out of their effects as possible, putting them in the center, while in this one those were just part of the background.

I guess it's one of those movies that you either hate or love.

I guess so. While other movies (such as Dark Knight), you either love or die!

There is no sense in arguing about someones taste, but cloverfield wasn't bad in my opinion.
I love to see some kind of realism in movies, especially in how people would act in extreme circumstances.
Thats why I like cloverfield. It was realistic in a strange kind of way.

The main reason I wasn't impressed with it was because it wasn't what I was expecting. I heard someone say that it was similar to I am Legend which I really liked so I thought, "I want to see this movie!" It turned out to be nothing like I am Legend which disappointed me because I was looking forward to some alien ass-kicking but the whole movie was them running away. Which to be honest, is incredibly realistic because there's no way that a bunch of friends are going to try and take down a huge alien.

Now thats funny, because I didn't like I am Legend at all. One single man in a very hostile and creepy environment fearlessly kicking ass all by himself. Riiight. The movie didn't make any sense at all, and it was boring. The story lacks and the zombie-like creatures were dumb and intelligent at the same time. Dunno but it just lacked overall.

Resident Evil > I am Legend
Starship Troopers > I am Legend

I have to agree that I didn't really like I Am Legend either. It may be because I expected the movie to be something completely different, but for a viral zombie kinda movie I just didn't like it much.

I also enjoyed Resident Evil a lot more and I simply loved 28 Days Later, which is another movie with a concept comparable to I Am Legend. Have you seen those two?

To Myth: lol Obviously we have totally different movie tastes. Anyways, I do have to agree with you about Resident Evil and Starship Troopers being better than I am Legend.

To Windwaker: I also agree with you. Why couldn't he have just thrown the grenade through the hole in the glass?! Instead he decides to kill himself. What an idiot! Oh well! It's better than in Omega Man (the movie I am Legend is based on). In Omega Man he holds up the cure for the mutants and says, "I can cure you!" and then they ignore him and kill him!

To Crisis: Aren't there multiple Resident Evil movies? I don't remember the name of the one I saw. It was a good movie. However, I haven't seen 28 Days Later. Is it a good movie?

Yeah there are multiple resident evil movies, but the only really good one is the first one. The second is mildly entertaining and so is the third.

I really liked 28 days later. It's a movie that also has to do with some virus being spread in a town, turning people in to mindless flesheating zombies. But the approach is very different in that it's not about beating the zombies, it's about someone waking up in a situation of chaos, trying to find out what the hell is going on and surviving by running. It shows a more "realistic" view on the actions of what people do in such a situation. Furthermore, what I liked about it is that in this movie, once you get bitten it doesnt take a few hours or days until you turn, it takes a few seconds.

Umm... I wouldn't suggest watching the Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor before The Dark Knight or Hancock. It got terrible reviews. I heard it got a 1.5/5!
