ooh good one there, I can see where that problem comes from. I wonder how to solve it. Basically, if a soldier has a secondary weapon selected and you order them to get some ammo out of the supply box, they get secondary ammo. But if the soldier also has a primary weapon they will automatically switch to their primary weapon once their secondary ammo runs out. If you order them to get ammo at that point, the soldier will assume you want him to get primary ammo since that's the weapon he has currently selected.

I think that what I'll do is, I'll let the soldier restock on secondary if you order them to get ammo and they are out of secondary ammo but still have primary ammo. E.g. Ryan has 20 primary ammo left and 0 secondary ammo and has selected his primary weapon. If you order Ryan to get ammo at that point he will restock on secondary ammo instead of primary ammo.

Does that sound good?

Yes that sounds good, but i think there are the engineers missing so it
should be like that:

- out of pri ammo but still with sec ammo -> soldier will get pri ammo
- out of sec ammo but still with pri ammo -> soldier will get sec ammo
- out of both ammo types -> soldier tries to get pri ammo if available, if not he gets sec ammo

- soldiers with no pri weapon, axe or spade will always be treated as full of pri ammo

Thats the theory... :)

Ok, both the ammo issue you mentioned and the bug should be fixed in the next version. They were actually quite related to each other.

What specifically seemed to be the crash issue was that an engineer (or any other soldier for that matter) who had a spade or an axe as a primary, let the game crash once they attempted to restock on ammunition. It didn't matter whether they attempted to restock by themselves or if you ordered them. In both cases the game would crash.

It seemed there was a check missing on the primary being either an axe or a spade instead of an actual weapon.

Thanks a lot for your bugtracking, it has really helped a lot since I had no clue where to look for the bug. I'd never expected it to be something like this.

Has anyone notice that you get 50 prim. and 60 sec. and 2 health boxes when you start off at a mission other than mission 1?

thats what ive been getting and its really annoying since i remember i had 500 + prim and 200 + sec. and like 8 health boxes and the game crashes like you guys said.

kinda hard to share 50 prim with 2 MG, and 3 rifles lol. . . tongue

my game crashes randomly i cant really pinpoint it exactly or tell you whats really happening in hte flash when it does but. . . it seems to crash a lot when i order my troops to move. . . i think.. . . . im just guessing.

Oooh, then there must be a problem with the save game not restoring your stock on ammunition and health. Good thing you noticed. I'll fix it in the upcoming version.

In the version that's online now, the two crash bugs described above (the one with the ammunition box, and the one where you're almost game over) are still in it. If you do find something that you think is different from those, please make a screenshot before and after clicking "stop this script" and post it here on the forum with a quick description of what was going on and about what you think might have caused a crash.

I'm currently working on a secure save system for the competition game-mode of Vanguard. Hopefully it will all work out as planned. If so, it will start saving onthe same moments in that mode as it does in the campaign mode. So that would allow you to close and restart the game if it starts running slow or if it crashes, without losing (much of) your progress. Ofcourse there will be a catch that makes sure you cannot replay one level over and over. Once you've loaded a savegame you would not be able to load that same save again.

I found a new bug. There were no enemies in lvl 2 of the compete version. I dunno why but no enemies were there.

If it happens more often, tell me about it again. Currently I can't find it. If I play the game I can't reproduce that bug. The enemies spawn normally for me.

(all in competition mode)

- medikit display in "equipment inventory" has only 2 digits. instead of 100 it will show 10. you can add and remove medikits to soldiers without problems thought

Fixed

- using the "repair" button of a bunker disables the "empty" button until the "bunkerbuilder" menu is closed and opened again

I think it's not the repair button...
- I, clicked on bunker 3 detail and empty button was ok
- repaired the bunker and empty button was still ok
- clicked left arrow to switch from bunker 3 to 5
- in bunker 5 the empty button was inactive
- in bunker 2 the empty button too
- closing bunker 2 and reopening -> empty button was active
- switching to bunker 3 and 5 the button were inactive

As stated above: Fixed

And another little bug?!
- Oscar with healing skill and Timon behind the wall
- Timon was nearly dead and calmed down ( with yellow ! )
- Oscars healing skill pushed Timons health to about 75%
- But Timon was still calmed down with yellow ! and doing nothing

Even though this kind of was on purpose and can understand why it can be annoying. You could just give the soldier a new order once he was recovered. But I've changed it and now they should stand up again once they've regained a certain amount of health.

Because it's quite impossible for me to find the cause of that little nuisance there I'll have to build something for it. I'll try and look into that as soon as possible. What I'm aiming at is an ingame function that allows you to send the some game information to me when that situation you just described occurs.
