ok for the bug, the team's respons was ok (-> i made the new record)
but we have a big problem of balance in third round.

I was full sniper's munition, all the bunker was full construct, i had a team of twelve man (with 2 or 3 medikit itch) , with 3 heavy machingun & 1 bazooka (who stopped all the halftrack)... but after 20 minutes all the bunker was destroy, all the soldiers was out of munition & i was only on 24% of the mission cry

i guess you are talking about level 4 not level 3. but i think this is not a balance problem. Chrisis explicitly balanced this level so that we all die there


bug (in competition mode):
- in the beginning of a level one soldier running to his position had a visual bug. it looked like he was throwing his gun on the floor and returned to normal running. this toggled in like half a second or less on his whole way to his bunker

There are several soldiers in the 'tank'. They take each others place after one is killed.

Not sure about the visual bug. Think Crisis can answer that.

The soldier reappearing has to do with the amount of soldiers stationed in the halftrack like Myth said. There's a collection of soldiers placed inside the halftrack. Once you kill one another will take his place until all of them are dead. The amount of soldiers depends on the level. Higher levels have more soldiers in the halftrack.

I know the type of the other bug mentioned by doublejk. I've fixed before and I'll check if I can find where it's coming from this time. Do you have any special information on that soldier? Like the weapon, did you find the soldier in that specific round, did he have a pri and a secondary weapon, which of the two was selected, etc? I'll probably be able to find the bug without the info but it would make it easier if I had it wink .

Eolair: If it's indeed lvl 4 like doublejk mentioned then yes, it's made that hard and lengthy on purpose. You will die in that mission, your preperation just determines how long you can hold out. So the type of soldiers, the amount of soldiers, the weapons they carry and the amount of ammunition and medkits you've collected in mission 1, 2 and 3 greatly determine this.

This decision was based on two problems. For one, it was simply taking hours and hours to complete one competition session. Secondly, the game starts to run like crap after a while. The more missions you complete the crappier the game will start running (which is really too bad, this annoying flash property removes a lot of potential from the game sad )

Depending on how this whole thing works out with the current balance it may be changed if needed or it may stay the way it is. For that I'd need some feedback and ideas from you guys.

"soldier reappearing": i know that there are several soldiers in one single tank. but the point is Quote:

which means he appeared and instantly after his head was up the die emote started. so i don't think my own soldiers could have killed him this fast

"soldier throwing weapon away": (not quite sure, the screenshots indicate it might have been the following situation) level 2, oscar the engenier equiped with spade and normal pistol, bunker 4 right spot, oscar was found after level 1 (not choosed in the initial setup)

let me get the point a bit more exact:
1. the soldier on the tank was shot by my own men (not by myself
2. the soldier on the tank died
3. an other soldier appeared on the tank like 10 seconds later (nothing special until now!)
4. immediately he died (this is the bug)
5. i think 3. and 4. reapeated once or twice until the tank passed the brigde

Ooooh, there you have it. I understand where that one's coming from. Even though it's "possible" for your soldiers to kill the soldier in a half-track, they aren't supposed to be able to actually do it (because of the immense cover and high firing position offered by the half-track). The new weapon range limitation system has probably led to soldiers with pistols being able to shoot at the half-track soldiers.

While this is possible systemwise I've never tested it because it shouldn't happen anyway. Should be fixably quickly. Thanks again doublejk!

It seems there's still one bug running around that causes the game to crash. What I want to find out is when this happens so I can fix it.

If there's anyone experiencing a game crash (you get a message telling you "this script is making your pc run slow, do you want to continue to wait?" or something like that). Please provide me with a screenshot of the happening and, if possible, explain to me when this happened. Did something specific happen? Did you do something that might have caused this?

This little bug is really hard to trace. It hasn't happened to me yet in all the tests I've ran but I've seen it happen to others. If I don't know where to look it's impossible to find it in 15000 lines of code.

I hope you guys can help me out here.

It happens to me every time I try to select bunker three in the campaign mode. I've tried twice and have got that message both times. (I've also had that happen to me when trying to login here on Clashflash, but that's only sometimes.) I'll get a screenshot to show you. (About the Vanguard problem that is)

Edit: Here's the screenshot. This happened to me in level three of the campaign in the tactics menu. I was moving over to bunker 4 this time (I've tried it multiple times and I believe that it freezes after a certain time frame or after you've moved through a certain amount of bunkers. I moved the message out of the way so you can see the screen. When you click no the message will reappear again after a delay. If you click yes, the game becomes unresponsive. When you move your mouse over a clickable icon, it will highlight like usual but it's inactive and won't do anything when you click on it. I hope that's enough detail for you!

That is enough information indeed. The problem is that it makes me completely clueless why it happens. There's nothing in the code that's executed when you do that that should be able to have that effect.

I'm starting to think I've pushed the limits of flash with this game.. It simply seems too heavy for the browser flash-player plugin. Do you use Internet Explorer or Firefox? I'm using Firefox and have never gotten that crash. I don't have that fast a pc.

-"machine gun soldier on halftrack" it happened again that the machine gun soldier on the halftrack instant died several times. i definitly did not shot him so it must have been my own men. it happened in level 2

-"machine gun soldier on halftrack" i just remeber something about this...this time it was more like a double animation, because the helm of the soldier flied away, he died and like one second later he poped up again, instanly dieing again
this repeated several times, until pepe killed the halftrack
(if you increadsed the popup speed it can be the same behaviour as before thought)

Myeah well it has to do with the idea that only you as a sniper are supposed to be able to hit that target. There's a hard restriction on it which makes me puzzled on why it still happens like that. I've adjusted somethings late this afternoon, one of the things had to do with fixing that one. Maybe it worked maybe it didn't. All depends on the version you've played.

The Machinegun description will change in the next update to fix that one. I can't be too rash with small updates because of the restrictions of my encrypter. It's still a trial that I haven't bought yet because I'm waiting for AS3 support until I'll do that.
