About 75% of the games I play don't give me a score or any sort of credit toward competition. I have made sure that I am logged in by visiting my profile screen. I have been clicking on the Competition link, then the game, then Play. Please look into this as I'd really like to see my high scores being added to the site.

Ok a few questions, because I don't yet know where the problem might come from.

At first, do you mean your experience and/or gamepoints, or do you mean your score that should appear in the top 35 high score list?

Do you use pop ups or modal windows (does the screen go black as you play or not?)

What browser do you use? (IE or firefox or ...?)

What game(s) did you play?

As I have seen such behavior before in the last few days, I have a suggestion towards the problem.

Can you tell me which of these errors is given to you when you submit a score:

1. Play this game once at a time
2. You are not logged in..
3. Invalid gamecode
4. Illegal Score

If we know that we've got some idea of where to look for a problem.

Since this behavior is quite new to me and because this has only been happening since our last small security update, it must be related to that.

Edit: Nevermind that request. I've looked into the logs and I see that it's the first. Let me look into it and I hope I can fix it quickly.

Ok at this moment it hasn't become clear to me yet what the problem can be. I will need a bit more data in order to be able to find the problem. So at this moment I'm waiting for another score that fails to submit properly.

If you get this, please respond and tell me your exact situation. Was it the only game you had been playing at that time or was there another you had opened? I've already checked opening two games at the same time but this did not affect the highscore submission for me. Because it doesn't fail every time but only on specific occasions I need to see a new result before I can do anything at all.

Here are some more details... Yoshi's game seems to work fine. Invasion and Ibiza have both failed. Invasion is the one I've played most with the problem, but it has not always been a problem. It has happened both when I play only once and when I play several in a row. When the score fails to submit, it shows up as "undefined" in the final score screen at the end of the game. I'll have to play again to remember where the "undefined" word showed up as that screen shows several scores including the most recent one and your top score of the month, etc... I always use firefox. I have not had any issues on my computer at home with firefox, but the one at work fails about 75%. Yes we are heavily firewalled at work, but the submissions have gone through just fine some of the time, and the firewall is a permanent thing that hasn't changed in the week or so I've been playing here.

Oh, to answer your other question - I only ever play one game at a time. I play several in a row, but I don't open two at once... Didn't read that correctly the first time.

It started occurring again. Here is a screenshot:



Ignore the left panel (I'm using 2 monitors at work).

So I had played several hours tonight without opening any new programs or changing any settings and staying in the same browser window except for once when the game locked up. Everything was working great in all the games I played including Invasion. Then all of a sudden I see the undefineds again and and my score is not submitted. Not sure what other info can help you fix this.

Thanks a real lot for your help in finding this bug. Those small tests you performed allowed me to find out where it went (maybe still is going) wrong.

I've included extra checks that hopefully will stop this from happening. I'll have to wait and see if it's working properly now and if not what the situation has become after I've changed things. So if you play these games at work once again (it doesn't really matter which of the games you play) and something happens that shouldn't happen please report it yet again. I hope you can pay a bit of attention to the screen you get after the loading and before the clashflash intro which states that it's verifying. Can you tell me if this takes long? and if it takes longer than before?

What I can say is that it's especially interesting because the only person that had this problem since I started measuring it in detail was you and you had it a lot of times actually. So somehow your connection has a property that no or only a few other connection have which allows this to happen.

Thank you for looking into it... I'll see if I notice anything different. My connection is heavily firewalled and uses a proxy server... I'd imagine most people playing from work or school have similar connections. I'm not sure what else might be different...

The verifying screen seemed to go pretty quick, but I'm not sure how long it took before. My very first game tonight - Invasion - gave me the undefined scores and no credit for playing once again... Looks like it didn't work...

Oh well, I will keep on trying to find a solution for this instable and intangible problem. I've adjusted some things yet again, still I must admit that at the moment it is a bit of trial and error for me.

I really hope we will end up with a solution that works. Again I've changed things and will wait to see if things work the way they should this time.
