Tanx is an aim and shoot game. Before you start you can choose one out of four tanks to play with. Every tank has its own specialties. Look at image 1.0 to see the specialties of the EC-Tank.
Image 1.0:
1. The bar at number 1 shows the title of the currently selected tank. To select a different tank click the arrow buttons next to the tank display.
2. The properties of the tank are shown here. As you can see a tank has five different propperties.
Primary Fire Power: The power of the primary weapon of the tank. The higher the power, the more damage you deal in one shot.
Agility: The speed of your tank to move from left to right and back.
Armor: The amount of armor your tank has. More armor means that you can take more damage before your tank is destroyed.
Rate of Fire: Indicates the time between two shots of your primary weapon. The higher the rate of fire, the lower the intershooting time.
Accuracy: The accuracy of the bullets fired from your primary weapon.
3. Here you can see what you primary weapon bullets look like and what kind of special weapon this tank has.
The purpose of the game is to stay alive as long as possible while you try to shoot down as much of the enemies as possible.
We’ll take a look at the in-game image (2.0) so we can explain how everything works.
Image 2.0:
1. This is the sky area. Enemies show up here. Underneath the red 1 you can see an enemy bomber that flies over from time to time and throws bombs at you.
2. The orange round thing near the chopter is your crosshair. The bullets you shoot will travel to where your crosshair is. Remember that your bullets might happen to travel inaccurate depending on the accuracy of your weapon. Above your crosshair you can find an enemy chopper, the chopper fires bullets at you shown at the left side of the red three.

4. At the right side of the four you can see your tank. You can move to the left and right to dodge bullets as long as you stay on the path. Down under the four you’ll find your HUD. (Heads Up Display).
The 140 shown is your score. The rocket on the left side is the indication of how many special weapons you have left to use. In time the bar next to the number two increases. When it reaches its top you’ll receive an extra special weapon, the more you save, the more you can use when it gets real tough. Be sure to use them before its too late though!
At the far right side your amount of armor is indicated. See it as the health of your tank.
From time to time packages are dropped out of the sky with parachutes carrying either medical supplies or special weapons. If you catch these packages before they hit the ground they will help you surive. Be sure not to shoot the packages out of the sky though.

The standard controls for this game are:
W: Shoot (you can hold it to keep fireing)
A: Move left
S: Use special weapon
D: Move right
Mouse: Aim
P: Pause the game
You have the ability to change the controls inside the game at the options menu.
What is the story behind this game?
It’s 2112, the worlds gap between the Western and Eastern civilization is bigger than ever before. 10 years ago, NATO finished a new underground bio-chemical research laboratory. This laboratory was breached after terrorists discovered the secret location of this complex. They began building bio-chemical weapons and used them to destroy NATO’s most important military airfields. Today most of our airborne units belong to terrorist organizations. NATO has built an unique series of Tanx to wipe out all enemy activities. It’s an important reminder that the terrorists have all the information they need to conquer the world, if they knew how to use it.
